Rilemo has protected its Business Model by means of patents, trademarks and industrial secrets and with a proactive strategy aimed at de-risking the operations of the company.

The assets that can be disclosed non-confidentially are detailed here in brief.

The patents portfolio of Rilemo includes patents owned by the company, and exclusive licenses.

Covering the overall technological method and state of the art in high resolution electromagnetic imaging devices to be used in the hospital, this patent, whose inventor is , is owned by the National Institute for Nuclear Physics, and it is given in exclusive, indefinite licensing and further purchase option to Rilemo s.r.l.

The patent, filed on the 21st December 2020, was granted in Italy, Europe, and USA.

This patent, covers the portable implementation of the device as seen in this data room and investor deck (the final design of the device is not disclosed).

The patent was filed in Q2.2025 and fully owned by Rilemo s.r.l. with inventor Nadim Conti.

The intellectual property firm with whom Rilemo is operating produced a Freedom to Operate (FTO) document on this patent in respect to Patent 1 and all the patents referenced and cited against such. This FTO is fully positive. Additionally the firm generated a Positive Absence of Prior Art Research done on 3 independent searches.

These patents cover specific implementations of the technology used at Rilemo, sub-parts and algorithms. The filing and/or secrecy of these patents are under a careful evaluation with strategic advisors.

As Rilemo’s devices are portable, they are prone to be brought away from their intended working site to be reverse engineered and cloned. To be protected from this risk, Rilemo does not to disclose all of its IP in patents, and keeps key methods and software as trade secrets.

Rilemo’s trade secrets include all of the IP that cannot be protected with a patent, and all of the IP that even if it was protected, it could be cloned easily by competitors. The list of these secrets is not available in non-confidential formats.

Although all of this is kept as trade secret, Rilemo is evaluating where possible to patent some of these approaches in order to enable further revenue streams by licensing its techniques and know-how to other companies.

The brand identity of a company operating in fields as sensible as the one where Rilemo wants to make an impact is an important tool to foster customer retention and trust. After a thorough survey with 200+ responders from the geographical areas which will be interested by Rilemo's expansion, the startup, that was once called "Previeni", rebranded into Rilemo.

This rebranding aimed at a better expression with users and the public of the encompassing vision and mission of the team, which does not only want to help preventive actions, but also to follow medical professionals with their diagnoses, monitoring, therapy, and follow up activities.

"Rilemo" was selected as the Trademark touching all these aspects as, to the medical user, has the clear meaning of "revelation, monitoring, and detection of water or blood".

As these findings perfectly fit Rilemo's vision, the trademark was filed in October 2024, granted and registered in the European Union in February 2025, and subsequently granted protection in the United Kingdom and Switzerland. The trademark is registered internationally under the Madrid System (WIPO registration n. 1858201), with registration procedures currently underway in the United States and Canada.

To further establish the brand and trademark protection, the team incorporated the company accordingly, under the denomination “Rilemo s.r.l.” and has secured a range of web domain names to ensure accessibility, brand protection, and future adaptability.

The primary domain was selected to be “rilemo.it”, serving as the main point of access to Rilemo’s website, emails, and with all other domains redirecting to it, therefore creating a wide net for search engines to better index the website for fast finding in a Google search.

Additional domains were chosen strategically to address potential mispronunciations.
